CULTURAL CLUB
The Cultural Club of APS Evening College provides a vibrant platform for students to explore and showcase their talents. A highlight of its activities is Talents Day, during which nearly 25 events are organised, offering students diverse opportunities to express their creativity. Competitions such as rangoli, cooking without fire, essay writing, debate, singing, and dance attract enthusiastic participation. These events are evaluated by external judges, ensuring fairness and recognition of true merit. Winners are honoured with prizes during the College Day programme. Beyond campus, talented students are also encouraged to represent the college in various intercollegiate competitions held throughout the year, bringing pride and recognition to the institution.

SPORTS
Sports at APS Evening College are encouraged with great enthusiasm, despite the unique challenges faced by working students. While regular sports activities throughout the year may not be feasible, the college ensures that students are not deprived of athletic opportunities. A key strength is its spacious and sprawling playground, which can accommodate more than a thousand students and remains open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., providing ample opportunity or practice and recreation. The Annual Sports Day is celebrated with great spirit, where students participate rigorously and competitively, on par with their counterparts in day colleges. Events such as cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, and special games for women witness active involvement, showcasing talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The achievements of participants are recognized during the College Day function, where prizes are distributed to the winners, fostering motivation and a strong sporting culture.

NSS
National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. “Education through Service” is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

Civil Defence
Civil defence or civil protection is an effort to protect the citizens of a state from military attacks and natural disasters. It uses the principles of emergency operations: prevention, mitigation, preparation, response, or emergency evacuation and recovery
Red Cross unit
The Red Cross Unit of APS Evening College actively promotes humanitarian values and social responsibility among students. Understanding that many evening college students are working during the day, first-generation learners, and often breadwinners, the unit organizes meaningful programmes such as blood donation camps, health awareness sessions, first-aid training, and community outreach initiatives. These activities are designed to be accessible and impactful,
enabling students to contribute to society while also gaining awareness about health, safety, and service.
Women Empowerment Cell
The Women Empowerment Cell is committed to supporting and uplifting female students by creating a safe and encouraging environment. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women who balance work, family responsibilities, and education, the cell conducts workshops on self-confidence, legal awareness, health and hygiene, and career development. It also provides a platform for discussion and support, helping women students become more confident, independent, and empowered in both personal and professional spheres.

Grievance and Anti-Sexual Harassment cell
This cell plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. It provides a confidential and supportive mechanism for students to voice concerns or grievances, particularly related to harassment or misconduct. Special care is taken to address the needs of evening college students, who may have limited time and unique vulnerabilities. Through awareness programmes, counselling, and prompt redressal, the cell ensures that every student feels secure and valued.
As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell has been established by Presidency College to provide .
The cell has well-developed guidelines and norms for a policy to uphold zero tolerance towards sexual harassment. The college has entrusted the task of developing principles and procedures for combating sexual harassment to this cell. Cell promotes measures aimed at achieving gender equality, removal of gender bias or discrimination, sexual harassment, and other acts of gender-based violence by organising awareness programmes and campaigns for the benefit of all members of the College.

Anti Ragging Cell
Anti-Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad- office bearers will work under the Supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and to engage in the works of checking places like Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation. Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.

The Grievance Redressal Cell of A.P.S Evening College was formally constituted for its members to probe into the student grievances which comprises of the Principal, Heads of the department and Class Teachers. It redresses the grievances at an individual as well as the class level and grievances of common interest. The Cell maintains a conducive and unprejudiced educational environment. Complaints of students and parents are redressed as soon as they are received.

Student Counselling and Mentoring Cell
The Student Counselling and Mentoring Cell provide essential academic and emotional support to students who juggle work and studies, and in many cases, family responsibilities. Mentors guide students in managing time, setting career goals, and overcoming academic challenges, while counselling services address stress, anxiety, and personal concerns. This personalized support system is especially valuable for first-generation learners, helping them stay motivated,
confident, and focused on their educational journey.

Green House
Covid-19 Awareness Cell
APS Evening College of Arts and Commerce Covid-19 Cell to address student grievances related to Covid-19 pandemic. The Covid-19 Cell was extended further with more members to form Covid Task Force as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provided by UGC and the Government of Karnataka.
Scholarship : Government and Non Government
The University and the Government (both State & Central) has extended various educational & financial benefits such as Fee concessions, Scholarships, Educational loans, etc., for eligible OBC (Cat-1,1IA. IIB, IIIA & 1IIB) and Minority students studying Bachelors Courses in colleges.
Addressing the grievances of other backward classes (SC/ST/OBC) and Minorities students cell.
APS Educational Trust has also extended financial support for meritorious students.

Student council:
A Student Council of the college enables in participative nature that is imbibed in the college tradition. Students learn, take decisions, participate and help in constructing a new cultural tradition.
Young volunteers make a significant contribution meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth.
Sports club:
Though this institution is an Evening College, with the limited scope for the sports, we have devised and created an atmosphere for the sports activities for the students. Separate sports events for girls and boys are organized for the students every year and prizes are awarded.
Film Club
The Film Club though operates in the spare time of the semester duration screening award winning films for the students. Discussions are held after the screening of the films. Sometimes the director or the film crew are invited to the college and an interactive session is conducted. Some of the texts are filmed in the native languages which are screened after the teaching sessions. .
